No other city in the world equals the history of the Eternal City. Founded more than 2700 years ago, the city of Rome reigned as the Caput Mundi, or Capital of the World. Besides that, Vatican,the Holy Capital of the World also makes up a district in the city.

As in ancient times, the larger section of Rome lies on the left bank of the Tiber, which intersects the city in three wide curves and is spanned by over 20 bridges.
